Tsunami Relief: Help People Not Whalers
To Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda:
We stand with the Japanese people in the ongoing disaster recovery and condemn the use of relief funds to promote the Japanese whaling industry. We demand the Japanese government immediately end all whaling subsidies and instead prioritize the immediate relocation and assistance of families still suffering in the aftermath of the nuclear disaster and tsunami.
Right now, the Japanese whaling fleet is barreling south to hunt thousands of majestic whales, escorted by a 30 million dollar security force paid for out of the tsunami disaster relief fund!
Anti-whaling champions were successfully blocking the Japanese whale hunt -- which is exactly why the Japanese government decided to swipe money from relief efforts to stop the ocean guardians from bothering the boats while they engage in their brutal slaughter.
If we can stop the whaling security and get the relief money back for desperate Japanese citizens still languishing in radioactive hotspots, we could help end the whale hunt for good. Japanese PM Noda is already under enormous pressure after scandalous failures to compensate victims of the nuclear disaster. A massive global outcry can spark outrage inside and outside Japan and force Noda to use precious relief funds to save people, not kill whales - sign the petition and share this campaign with everyone.
Amazing Whale Rescue
Environmental Issues – With all the stories in the news lately about beached whales dying, it’s nice to have a happy story about a whale for a change. Michael Fishback, co-founder of The Great Whale Conservancy (GWC), saved a young humpback whale from certain death.
Fishback (great name btw) and his crew found the whale floating in the water barely alive. After jumping in the water to investigate, he found that the magnificent creature was tangled in a nylon fishing net, preventing it from moving its fins and tail.
The crew worked diligently for more than an hour to cut and pull the whale free from the net, and once they made the final cut, the whale swam off, but not before treating the crew to an amazing show of gratitude.
Tell Obama to Stop the Whale Slaughter Now
Gearing up to kill over 1,000 whales in internationally protected waters, Japan's senior vice-minister announced that Japan is "determined to continue the {whaling} program until it leads to the resumption of commercial whaling."
In light of Japan's declaration that it intends to kill even more whales, President Obama must make good on his promise. As the President himself put it, "allowing Japan to continue commercial whaling is unacceptable."

The blue whale is the largest animal that has ever lived on this planet! There are several ways by which you can save the marine life. All the waste material we dump in the streets goes into the storm drains. This finally reaches the oceans without being cleaned. https://www.fashionforplay.com">www.fashionforplay.com
Whales still remain one of the ocean's mysteries. We are fascinated by them but we know so very little about their way of life and their intelligence. In a recent conference about marine life, a researcher spoke about many examples showing that whales actually have similar feelings to humans. This video just goes to support his theory.
